Virtual PE

  • Virtual Ballet - beginning

Using basic ballet vocabulary and technique, students will learn the fundamentals of this classic style of dance. These basic exercises and steps will help your child develop an awareness of alignment and grace all while having fun! Ballet slippers are suggested but not required.

  • Virtual Basketball - beginning

Basic skills are important when it comes to playing basketball. The beginning class will focus on ball-handling drills, dribbling, and proper shooting stance. Sessions will also work on the defensive moves of triple threat, sweeps, and pivoting.  A basketball is required. Ages 5 and up.

  • Virtual Basketball - intermediate (5th grade and older)

Participants in this class should have a good understanding of basketball fundamentals. Game strategies, in depth decision making skills, advanced dribbling and footwork will be introduced. The Sessions are conducted like a basketball practice. A basketball is required. Ages 10 and up.

  • Virtual Dance

This high-energy class consists of a warmup, floor stretches, balance exercises, and movement using all styles of dance. Students of all ages and levels will develop focus, coordination, strength, and confidence while having fun. Comfortable clothing and athletic footwear suggested. No equipment required for ages 5 and up.

  • Virtual Fitness

Participants will move through a variety of exercises consisting of aerobic fitness, core exercises, balance training, flexibility, and strength training (using items you can find around the house to use as weights). Comfortable clothing and athletic footwear suggested. Each session will leave you feeling energized, confident, and stronger!  Ages 5 and up.

  • Virtual Self Defense and Martial Arts - beginning

Most people think of self-defense as hitting back. But a large part of self-defense has nothing to do with hitting or striking another person. It involves being aware of your surroundings, listening to your gut, and leaving before a problem erupts, using a confident voice and carrying yourself with confidence. EMH's self defense will teach your child invaluable life skills, but it will also give them exercise, help them to develop balance, coordination, and strength.

  • Virtual Yoga/Stretch

Welcoming all levels, this class will concentrate on basic yoga postures/poses, static stretches, and balance training with a focus on breath and alignment. You'll need a hand towel, tie, or belt to be used as a resistance band and an exercise/yoga mat is recommended but not necessary (a large towel may be used). This is a class for everyone to enjoy! Ages 5 and up.

Virtual PE guidelines

By admin - Posted on 27 August 2020

Before your class, we ask that you please make sure your internet connection is solid and secure. The best scenario for no "dropouts", frozen screens, or disconnections during class is by using
an ethernet cable to connect your computer or laptop directly to your router.  (They are relatively cheap if you don't already have one. Various lengths are available if your router is in one room and you're taking class in another.)   If this isn't possible and you are only able to use wifi, please make sure your wifi signal on your computer is showing consistent "full bars" and remains strong.

  1. Must have a working internet connection and webcam; please log in a few minutes before your session.
  2. Parent/Guardian must be able to use Zoom for Group PE (at least two devices in case the connection is lost).
  3. Customer Service will send you the invite a day ahead of the session.
  4. Parent/Guardian must be present for students in elementary and middle school age groups.
  5. There must be a clear and safe space assigned for PE, outdoors or indoors. Area should be clear of clutter.
  6. Student needs to wear comfortable exercise attire, and a gym-type shoe (mandatory for safety).
  7. The instructor will only instruct those students who are enrolled, so no other child may join in who is not registered. Parent/Guardian needs to make sure their student(s) do not wander off and are staying focused on the instruction.
  8. There are no refunds or credits for missed/cancelled sessions by parent/guardian, so please make sure that your child(ren) are ready to go once sessions are assigned. If EMH cancels, a makeup time will be announced.
  9. POs or personal pay must be received by registration before sessions can commence (min. 2 days).

*** ANY QUESTIONS ON BILLING OR ANY OTHER CONCERN, PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE AS YOUR INSTRUCTOR IS UNABLE TO ASSIST YOU.
